The Museum of Berkshire Aviation

AviationPosted by Peter Smith Sun, June 24, 2018 23:01:39

Visiting relatives near Reading yesterday gave the opportunity to pop along to this little museum situated on part of the old Woodley airfield. Dedicated, as the name suggests, to aviation from the area it is dominated by items relating to Fairey and Miles. There are a handful of full size aircraft some of which are quite rare including the sole surviving Miles Martinet recovered as a wreck from Iceland some years ago. Staffed enthusiastically by volunteers it is only £3.50 to get in and is an interesting diversion for an hour or so if you are in the area.

They do well for a small outfit. The Martinet especially. It's taken a long time but is looking pretty good now.
