Cosford - low level

AviationPosted by Peter Smith Sun, June 10, 2018 23:39:08

So today was the airshow at Cosford, their RAF centenary event. A bit of a trek for a day trip so we stopped over near Walsall last night and headed off after a leisurely breakfast this morning. At around 10.15 a.m. with almost 10 miles to go we picked up the entrance queue on the M54! As an advance ticket only event I was a bit surprised. Anyway, after a slow crawl we got in to the show around midday just as the flying display started. Still, it was warm and sunny, hitting 26c by day's end, albeit a bit hazy early on, there was some good flying and plenty to look at on the ground, which is where I'll start. Good to see some museum exhibits dragged out in to day light although I don't think we needed the big 'RAF Museum' signs propped in front of them smiley

Yes Mark, first sighting of NGNG in her new clothes. Only in static but looking impressive none the less.

Nice pics Peter - thanks. First look at the P-47 for you? Well... technically not probably as isn't she the previous No Guts No Glory that wa based at DX? So I'm thinking you may have seen her many years before?
