The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation have returned their C-97 to the air within the last few days. It's the only airworthy a/c of its type.
Here it lifts off after a refuelling stop.
A few high lights with a refreshing lack of verbal diarrhoea drowning out the aircraft.
Looking a little different than the all silver get up applied in NZ is Paul Allen's Mosquito which has had it's first test flights in the USA. This was the second. Looking good
So White 14 took to the air yesterday. We now wait with baited breath for Legends!

Not sure what causes this so I won't speculate but this Spitfire XIX flipped on to its back in France today moments after starting its take off run. Fortunately the pilot is reported to be OK
Whilst all Zeros are technically Japanese this flight a few days ago in Japan in the hands of a Japanese pilot was a first for over 70 years. The aircraft is the usual data plate rebuild and has a Pratt & whitney engine but it looks the part.

Sorry to see that Mike Beachy Head passed away a couple of days ago. Best known for Thunder City in South Africa, home to some airworthy classic jets including the Lightning and Buccaneer. A sad loss.
